Great August Workshop!

027 028 029 030 031 032 033 034

We had a great August workshop. Lenora demonstrated many techniques using only black and white clay.  The clay was donated by Fimo and is a new formulation that is much easier to condition.  Everyone went home with a black and white sample pack.  The show and tell table was filled with great pieces our members have been busy with this summer.

Master Class Workshop with Doreen Kassel

Sunday, March 3, 2012 11-3pm, the NJPCG will be having guest artist Doreen Kassel for a Master Class.  This class is free to all current members and you too can become a member for the low low price of $30/year.

Small Creature Charm Workshop

In this class we’ll create adorable creatures & tiny beasts, either to wear as a charm, or just to keep as a good luck charm. Think of stories or categories for your charms. For example, the three little pigs, jungle animals, farm animals, dogs, you get the idea!
Learn to sculpt these tiny 3/4″ creatures. After they are baked we’ll paint them with multiple coats of with oil paints, to give them a subtle, vintage feel. Feel free to bring cord to string the little creatures.

White Premo Clay, three 2 oz blocks
Decent oil paints, I use Winton (be sure to have Burnt umber & white)
a few small, pointed tip brushes
rags to clean up, or Viva paper towels
I’ll supply soft wire for tiny mouse tails & loops for charms.

All our workshops are held in the Creative Arts Building (Craft Bld)  Studio 3 at Thompson Park –  805 Newman Springs Road (Route 520), Lincroft, NJ 07738

There is ample free parking and no stairs to navigate.  Come in the door on the left and the studio is on the left.

Nov 4th Workshop Canceled!

Due to the extensive storm damage we will be rescheduling the November Workshop with Guest Artist Doreen Kassel.  I know it would be difficult for many members to travel to the workshop and I don’t want anyone to miss it.  We will reschedule Doreen’s workshop and keep you posted.  Stay safe and I hope everyone is well. – Robin
